About The Author
Kenneth Wells Sr
Kenneth Wells is a passionate advocate for men’s health and a voice for those silenced by fear, pride, and societal expectations. A native of Compton, California, Kenneth’s journey is one of resilience, strength, and transformation. His personal battle with prostate cancer, coupled with his experiences growing up in a community where silence around health issues was the norm, inspired him to share his story with the world.
In his book Surviving Prostate Cancer as a Black Man, Kenneth opens up about the challenges he faced in facing his diagnosis, the emotional weight of his surgery, and the strength he found through vulnerability. He shares his experiences in a raw, authentic way, encouraging other men—especially Black men—to prioritize their health, confront their fears, and break the silence around critical health issues.
Kenneth’s mission is clear: to empower men to speak up, seek help, and embrace the journey toward healing, both physically and emotionally. His advocacy extends beyond the page, as he actively works to raise awareness about prostate cancer, improve access to healthcare, and dismantle the stigma surrounding men’s health in communities of color.
Kenneth currently lives in the United States, where he continues his work as an author, speaker, and advocate for change. His work is deeply rooted in faith, family, and the belief that true strength comes from embracing vulnerability.
